Hobbies/Interests: I love to cook and hang out with my friends and roommates! I enjoy meeting new people and volunteering and I love being a Saluki!
Favorite Place on Campus:
My favorite place on campus is “Old Campus.” It’s all of the older buildings on campus and the architecture is amazing! There are tons of trees and beautiful flowers to look at, especially in the spring that is when it is the prettiest! When I have some spare time and I’m on campus I like to sit on a bench over there and just enjoy the scenery!
Best of SIUC: It’s hard to pick just one best of SIUC but thus far, I would have to say working on SOAR has been one of my fondest memories. I met a lot of really great people by being on staff and learned so much about the university. Of course helping new students get acquainted to SIUC is always a pleasure and a lot of fun. I love seeing new students get so excited about coming to SIUC which is great because we love having them! It was hard to narrow my “bests” down to just one, but it’s safe to say that being on SOAR covers a lot of them and I can’t wait to do it again this year! GO DAWGS!
Advice to new students: My advice to new students is to enjoy being a college student. Go out and meet new people, either in your building, in class or just around campus. Get involved with something that interests you because it’s not only a great learning experience and tool but also a really great way to meet people. GO TO CLASS and don’t be afraid to ask for help, that’s what college is here for, and as always HAVE FUN!!
