Hobbies/Interests: I love doing things that not everyone gets the dhance to do. Techno is my music of choice and it makes me really happy. Getting people together and making them a team is always one of my goals. Meeting new people is always fun because there are many great people out there that are nothing like you.
Favorite Place on Campus: My favorite place on campus is the Student Center. You can relax, get some food, and get help from experts ranging from housing to the student activities. There are computers to check your e-mail. The bowling alley is always fun.
Best of SIUC: Being at SIUC feels like home and the times you will have here are unforgettable. I have heard many people say that they feel like they took high school for granted. Do not allow yourself to do that here. Take a chance and try something different. The people are down to earth and here to help you out. In one day you can take a swim in the lake with the backdrop of a forest and go to the mall and movies later on in the afternoon. Be yourself. As lame as it sounds, show the best of you.
Advice to new students: Do not stress out about anything, it will all fall into place one way or another. Come into school with the mindset that this is a new chapter of your life so have as much fun with it as you can. Be yourself and don't try to act "cool", people will see right through you. Join at least one club or group. You can take the chance to network and feel like you have accomplished something good with your time. If you have the combination meal plan you have $100 dollars at the Student Center to spend on food. I did not find that out until the last week of the first semester. Last, but not least, join Greek Life!
